Postfire retardant for oil paintings

Hello, I've just joined the artists forum and this is my first post.

I'd appreciate any advice/information on using fire retardants on oil paintings.

I have a couple of paintings that I've submitted to hang in an exhibition in a hospital and have just become aware that these (along with all other oil paintings) either need to be glazed or treated with a fire retardant. Glazing would be very expensive and look terrible, so I'm trying to get to grips with the idea of using a fire retardant, though it's a new one on me, and also for the few people I've spoken to about this.

I have searched for information online on fire retardants for oil paintings and and haven't come up with any results. Though there are many products out there, they all seem to be for more industrial purposes. Apparently the hospital recommend a product called Flametect C.

Does anyone have any information and/experience of using this product or similar? I'm very nervous of using a product I know nothing about and which isn't specifically made for oil paintings?
