A member of our Art Society (DundeeArt Society) had the PARBLO message, and the guy subsequently sent him a cheque for £6000 - hadn't ordered anything, just for whatever artwork the member would sell him! He told PARBLO he had torn the cheque up, and only dealt with personal customers. Apparently anybody who falls for this scam and agrees to send artwork(s) in return for the cheque gets a visit from a courier who comes to collect the artwork, and who wants £200 for the service. If you are mug enought to accept, youdon't see your artwork or £200 again and of course the cheque bounces.
It's safest to assume that anything with incorrect (often ludicrous) grammar and/or spelling is a scam. I would add "or than strains belief", but apparently Major-General Nbango Nbango's widow is still making money from her offer to give you 15% of the $15000000 her husband was trying to get out of Nbangoland if you would just send her your bank details, so some people fall for it!

But surely you wait until the cheque is cleared and communicate this to anybody who is interested in buying your artwork.

I have had people with perfect English accent who have been messing me about so I would not sweep all with the same brush!

All of this is another proof how arduous the road of us artists is ( to continue in a dramatic mood). It is off putting when people are taking the pi..
I suppose we all have to develop a thick skin and learn to ignore scammers and time wasters alike.
