PostSuggestions on pricing my artwork

by Andie.gorski » Tue Apr 22, 2014 3:44 pm

I have been comissioned to create some artwork by an art consultant firm that I work, with for a hotel. The pieces will be acrylic on mounted MDF board. There will be two and they will measure 70"x50" each. Anyone have experience with pricing larger work in this capacity? Any ballpark figures on what I should be charging or advice on a way to calculate my price? Thanks in advance!

Tricky thing pricing.

Think of it from the perspective of your client. What is it worth to them? How prominently will your work be displayed and what would they charge their clients for as much time as you are likely to invest?

They obviously value your work otherwise they wouldn't have commissioned you in the first place.

I reckon whatever price you may have in your head at the moment - increase it by 50%.
