PostAdvice needed: sterlizing dead tree branches for installatio

Hi all, my first time here. I'm prepping for a gallery show early next year where I'm piling up some large (6 or 8 feet long), dead tree branches in the middle of the room. I'm wondering if I need to worry about hidden pests - insects and bacteria. I don't want to be remembered as "the guy who brought termites to our gallery."

Is there a way to sterilize the branches before I bring them in? I'd like to avoid toxic substances if possible; would steam cleaning do the trick? Anyone done this before?

thanks!
