Hi. I'm fairly new to promoting online, and wondered if anyone out there has experienced the same problem as I am. Since May this year, visits to my website have steadily increased, currently 1,499 to date this month alone. This would be great if only a few visitors had left a comment or two. Just the other day someone I know told me that it had taken her several attempts to leave a comment because the capcha was preventing her from doing this. I consequently removed the capcha facility. However.....still no comments left (other than this one person.)
Is it quite usual to have such a flow of visitors and no contact?

Sadly yes.

However you could try asking visitors to your site to sign up to your mailing list.

Perhaps by offering something for FREE in exchange for the email address.

It need not be anything of any great value (or cost).

I have just started offering a FREE Painting with Pastels eCourse via a Facebook page.

It's a great way to build a list contacts and start developing some relationships.
