PostOpportunity to exhibit in London....at a price!

Hi,
I have been given the opportunity to exhibit my work at the Brick Lane Gallery in London. Trouble is they don't work on a commission basis and want £500 to exhibit for 2 weeks.
I don't really want to pass up this chance but can't really justify the cost.

Has anyone exhibited there, and if so, did you have much success from it?

Can anyone offer their advice please?

I have also got the invite but cannot get excited about it as this is a
vanity gallery who charge in advance for showing your work. By doing that
they cover their risk in advance at a cost to artist. According to social media
information available on the net, most artists do not sell work there.
Also please bear in mind that any reputable gallery will not charge you for exhibiting
your work and will spend money on promoting you before the start of the exhibition.
Vanity galleries are no go area for any serious art critic or a collector.

Thanks for the advice. I will steer clear.

Don't they realise that most artists trying to make a living from their work simply can't afford that kind of outlay with no guarantees!

Thanks :)
